Dr. George D. Lane, DPM

Dr. George D. Lane, DPM, DABFAS, FAAPSM, earned his Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech in 1989 and graduated Summa Cum Laude and Valedictorian from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in 1997. He served as Chief Resident of Podiatric Surgery from 1999-2000 at Northern Virginia/INOVA Fairfax Hospital and Georgetown University Hospital within the Department of Plastic Surgery and Limb Salvage.

Dr. Lane has been in practice since 2000 within the Northern Virginia area, where he founded and operated a foot and ankle specialty care center. In 2015, Dr. Lane moved his practice to the Greater Richmond area, and in 2018, he began his custom orthotic business. Most recently, Dr. Lane served as Lead Podiatrist of the Ancillary Division for Achilles Foot and Ankle Center, managing patients at nursing, assisted living, and independent living facilities.

As a recipient of the Top Doctor in Sports Medicine Award from Washingtonian Magazine, Dr. Lane joined SynergyHealth Foot & Ankle to provide non-surgical treatment solutions for runners, walkers, and those heavily active on their feet, and to provide foot care for nursing home and assisted living patients. With expertise in managing running injuries, Dr. Lane gives lectures on these types of injuries and proper footwear and is an active contributor to the Richmond Road Runners Club newsletter on these subjects.

Dr. Lane is board-certified in reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery from the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and has served as a subject matter expert in sports medicine for the American Board of Podiatric Medicine.
