SynergyHealth Foot & Ankle Steps Up During VPMA’s 2022 Scientific Conference

September 1, 2022

This summer, Dr. Vetti and Dr. Patel represented SynergyHealth Foot & Ankle at the annual Virginia Podiatric Medical Association’s (VPMA) Scientific Conference. VPMA is a professional membership organization representing and advocating the interests of actively practicing doctors within the field. The annual conference is a four-day event featuring the latest developments, discoveries and practices in podiatric care.

Taking place at the Virginia Beach oceanfront, our team proudly ran the Medical Assistant Track for the conference. Throughout the weekend, practicing doctors and assistants discussed topics ranging from plantar plate pathology to lateral ligament ankle sprains to new patient care and much more.

Dr. Vetti, President of the Richmond chapter for the VPMA and a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Medicine, gave a report on the Richmond Division’s activities. He also recognized Dr. Glen R. Wilensky, DPM at the Podiatry Center in Richmond, for his long service as VPMA’s Division Secretary. Dr. Wilensky’s honor included his role as a Vaccinator during the COVID-19 pandemic as part of the VA Medical Reserve Corps.

As the State Treasurer of VPMA, Dr. Patel addressed the general membership with her 2022 Treasurer’s report. Shortly after, she was sworn in as VPMA’s Secretary. As many of our patients know, Dr. Patel has an impressive list of accomplishments, having received her doctorate in podiatric medicine from Temple University in 2012, where she earned multiple awards for academic performance and clinical research.

We couldn’t be more proud of and excited for Dr. Patel as she continues to invest her time and knowledge into VPMA’s mission and, in turn, invest in our patient’s health and well-being.

The annual VPMA is always an exciting time for SynergyHealth Foot & Ankle’s team to meet with local podiatrists and exchange information on improving our practices and providing the best care for our Richmond patients. The experience is one we look forward to every year, and we’re already excited to see what next year’s conference brings.
