SFMC Wound Care Center named Center of Distinction

In late winter, the Bon Secours Wound Care Center at St. Francis Medical Center was recognized with a national award for clinical excellence by being named a Center of Distinction by Healogics, the largest provider of advanced wound care services in the country.

By achieving a 30-day median healing rate of 91 percent and higher and scoring above 92 percent in patient satisfaction for 12 consecutive months, the Wound Care Center at St. Francis Medical Center became one of just 221 wound care centers to receive the distinction of ‘Center of Distinction’ out of 512 eligible centers nationally

Part of the dedicated team at the Bon Secours Wound Care Center at St. Francis Medical Center are Dr. Luke Vetti and Dr. Ushita Patel, podiatrists from SynergyHealth Foot & Ankle, who provide their services three times a week at the wound care facility at St. Francis Watkins Centre.

The Bon Secours Wound Care Center at St. Francis Medical Center is a member of a network of nearly 800 wound care centers, a network responsible for treating approximately 2.5 million wounds. Additionally, the Bon Secours Wound Care Center at St. Francis Medical Center offers highly specialized wound care to patients suffering from diabetic ulcers and pressure ulcers, infections and other chronic wounds that have not healed over a reasonable amount of time.

Along with wound care services, advanced treatment includes negative pressure wound therapy, skin grafting, hyperbaric oxygen therapy as well as biological and biosynthetic wound dressings and growth factor therapies.
